My top tips of how to get clear skin and I get rid of your acne or spots to have smoother and healthier looking skin.
Get Rid of Makeup Wipes
They just pull at your skin and you end up having to rub your face to actually get the makeup off which leaves it sore and irritated. Using wipes every night actually made my skin a lot worse because of how dry and red it left it. Throw your wipes away and switch to…
Yes, it takes slightly longer to take off your makeup with cleaners than it does with a wipe but your skin will forever thank you for it! I switch between two products, the Simple Micellar Cleansing Water and the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. Both of these products are super gentle, so it makes getting makeup off so much easier and your skin isn’t left feeling dry or sore. Both of these cleaners make my face feel so hydrated afterwards which I love.
When someone first told me this I was confused, why would I moisturise when it’s the oils on my skin that are causing spots so I didn’t want more moisture! But after trying it I realised that it really did help my skin to clear up, we all need to moisturise, no matter what skin type we have. For me, my skin is super sensitive so I use a moisturiser like this Nivea one which isn’t scented or anything and just does the job well.
Start Your Day by Using a Facial Wash
Sometimes all you can be bothered to do is splash a bit of water on your face when you wake up, but after switching to using the Freederm Sensitive Skin Facial Wash every morning I think it’s one of the main products that has helped me acne. It’s a product that’s properly designed to cleanse your pores and get rid of excess oil which really started to decrease my acne very quickly.
Toners Are Your Best Friend
I love toners, I don’t know what I’d do without them. I use one on my face before I apply makeup and I genuinely notice a difference to my makeup application when I use it. My favourites are the Simple Soothing Toner which I love because it’s completely alcohol free and makes my skin feel so fresh after using it. And also the Garnier Rose Water Toner which has the added benefit of smelling great. I always thought toners were a waste of time, and then I tried them and saw such a difference to my pores and acne in general that I haven’t stopped using them since!
Wash Your Face with COLD Water
Probably by favourite and best tip I have, to always wash your face using cold water. I know it feels horrible to use cold water, but it gets the blood flowing to your face and most importantly, it closes your pores which massively helps to improve acne!
